The Downtown Angola Coalition is a dedicated group of individuals who have supported community development since 2017.
Doing business as Angola Main Street, the Downtown Angola Coalition partners with the City of Angola, Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (Indiana Main Street), and Main Street America, operating as an National Main Street accredited program. The program requires our organization to maintain certain standards in our programming and projects, ensuring quality and accountability in our community development efforts.
We are so excited to announce that we were awarded $50,000 from T-Mobile to expand the existing Imagine Alley, in partnership with the City of Angola, Easterseals RISE and Relic Emporium, by creating a vibrant mural promoting kindness and inclusivity. Imagine Alley is located in the Southwest corner of the mound and connects Gail Street to downtown Angola.
DAC, which obtained its 501(c)3 status in 2018, has initiated several annual programs and events that promote community pride and togetherness. Several physical projects have also been made possible through collaborative efforts. In January of 2024 Angola Main Street was awarded National Accreditation.
Our Focus
Promoting activities and development in Downtown Angola is our focus, but we are proud to contribute to making Downtown Angola a regional destination. We work with government agencies, local businesses and property owners, philanthropic organizations, and many passionate community members to coordinate comprehensive efforts in place-making. We help facilitate programs, events, and development projects that celebrate the community’s historical and natural resources, support local businesses, and enhance the experience of living and working in Downtown Angola.
